Sophie’s career in Legacies started four and a half years ago when she became a Will Reader and Reporter at Smee & Ford. After a fascinating and educational eighteen months, she concluded that she wanted to be working on the other side of the legacy notifications. Sophie moved on to become an Assistant Legacy Officer at Cancer Research UK, where she worked on a caseload of pecuniary matters, while also helping to keep the operational side of the Legacies team ticking. In 2017, when the opportunity arose to work on Residuary cases, Sophie jumped at the chance. She worked for six months in the Professional team, corresponding mostly with solicitors, before moving across to the Friends and Family team, primarily communicating with Lay executors. Sophie remained in that team until she left in August 2019, when she joined the British Heart Foundation as a Legacy Officer.
